sunday...as promised...

current dillemma: gundam? slippers? cd? manga? mag?

well, i was really tired yesterday...i woke up at about 10+ and watched pokemon and gransazers and gundam seed before setting off for orchard. i think i reached orchard rather promptly and i got stalked by another one of those people getting $5 donations to help ex-prisoners. i don't have anything against them but it's a little annoying to get stalked at every mrt station. especially when they do the 'brother' thing.

anyway, ed tried to save me by giving me a call and i managed to escape. so we set off in search of my shorts when momo called ed to say that he wasn't coming anymore. so we walked.....and then we went to kino. we just hung around the manga section and after some effort, i managed to find a chinese version of the rozen maiden manga. hmm...didn't some bitchy shop attendant say there wasn't such a thing on monday? i'm going back to tp tenchi and ask for it again. i'm going to show that bitch who's boss...!roar!

anyway we went to heeren and couldn't find ones that i wanted and so we went to cathay and bought itckets to the spongebob movie. we then went back to takashimaya and met up with my mum and bro. then they just stayed around the toy dept whereas ed and i continued the search. i finally managed to buy a pair of billabong board shorts at isetan! yes!!!! my brother bought a braintwist for his early birthday present.

after that we went for the movie. it was actually quite lame and very much standard for anything spongebob. ed went home after the movie while i had dinner with mum and greg at mosburger ebfore we went home.

well, as promised....here's this week's

SUNDAY DISCUSSION

hmm...what i think of the various jc's...let's do it alphabetically...(do bear in mind this is totally my opinion and i may or may not be a reliable source)

Anderson JC: well, i had originally wanted to come here and even put it down as my first choice for pae. the main attractions were the idea of joining tennis, it's distance not being too close nor too far from my place and also the famous aj ice (basically a really cheap super sized ice kacang). however i wasn't posted there and looking back now i'm quite glad i wasn't. the reasons for why i'm no longer as interested are (1) they have bad character: the teachers actually laughed at those who tried to appeal in. if the teachers have such sucky character, how much better would the students they nurture turn out to be? (2) they actually accepted people who had no common sense at all but didn't accept me for pae: one of the classes in charge of decorating the fountain for chinese new year actually folded ang pao goldfish and threw them into the fountain. genius right? (3) some of the people i don't like are(were?) there: let's not mention names shall we? many zhonghuarians. said to have made it to the top 5 for last year's a level's after being at no. 6 for waaaaay too long. but who knows(cares)?
culture:* (maximum 5 stars and minimum 1 star)

Anglo-Chinese JC: never really thought of going to acjc. i've heard that it's a really happening school where the student's main concern would be clubbing and partying. school for rich people for various reasons. a christian(methodist) school.

facilities:???(never been there)
distance:**

my choice: nil

Catholic JC: not too far from my place with a direct bus. cj odac is known to be super tough and they practically train everyday. a catholic school(duh). known to be the jc with highest abortion rates however, shows decline recently.(angster was from cj last time....)

Meridian JC: one of the new jc's but power-crazy principal has crazy ideals to push MJC to the top 5 jc's in the shortest time possible, thus creating a very stressful environment. all the way at the east side of singapore.
culture:*1/2
facilities:****(same idea as innova)

Nanyang JC: yes, where i've been for the pae. quite a nice and cosy place but just a little too laid back. it's just a 5 minutes walk from my place. has just been renovated but still lacking some facilities. many zhonghuarians.
culture:****
facilities:***1/2

my application:4th

National JC: one of the top 5 jc's. i think i made a mistake because it would be a real mugger's school. it's in bukit timah (not too far from hwa chong) so it has some strange atmosphere(in a good way). i know it's wierd saying this but i really hope i don't get in.

Temasek JC: wonderful place with a nice culture and adequete motivation to study.(ok maybe i'm a little biased.) one of the top 5 though it has been said that has been replaced by ajc last year but who knows(cares)? though compound isn't exactly new, has been upgrading. has(had?) a subway in the library.(as in the fast food joint) has an anime club. has a cool structure with balls and a hammer and the ball goes all round, so fun! has been my dream jc ever since i've been there for their open house last year.
culture:*****!!!

friends:**1/2
my application:2nd (i'm praying hard everyday...stupid mistake of putting njc first...damn...)

Victoria JC: one of the top 5 jc's. slightly closer than tjc with a direct bus from my place. however, a real mugger's school where they try to look like they are fun but i've seen through their pretence when i was at their open house.
