Day 8...the day part of my heart got crushed...(metaphor only)...i'm getting over it...
AJ 6 : NY 6
current mood: otsukare~ (tired~)
the first thing we had today is listening to a few more talks by some HoDs. after the talks, we had p.e. we were supposed to wear our ss p.e. shorts and our white zion t-shirt which i completely forgot and i wore my ss p.e. t-shirt which made me one of the extra ones (again). for p.e., we were told to run 9 rounds but most of us, including me, stopped at 8 which works out to be like 3.2 km. after that, we had to do 6 pull-ups each. for each one we couldn't do we had to do 10 push-ups. oh yea, during p.e. i managed to get to know 2 more of my ctmates, john and tiffany.
after p.e. we rushed to the chemistry lecture. we went through the basic stuff like Mr and Ar and nothing exciting happened. after chem was maths during which we finished going through partial fractions and were given an assignment to do. after maths, i went for lunch with my ogmate, ryan, because he said that everything has been pushed back for 30 min because the talks ended late. so we had lunch and then we went to the hall only to find that the library talk was already in progress and was in fact about to end.
after the library talk, we made our way to the yck tennis centre. the weather was really damn hot... well, we got there, warmed up by running 3 rounds round the courts and we went for the try-outs. the (not-so-friendly) coach hit us balls which we were supposed to return. in the end, only 6 out of the 11 guys who turned up made it to the 2nd round of the try-outs because they were looking for competition level players to fill up spots in the boys' team for their final competition before they fold up in april. crap.
after that i took 283 back with another guy i got to know, karta (right?), and i decided to go home because i was really tired and had homework to do. sorry people at the chinese culture society.
i guess i have no choice but to stay in dragonboat (which is not really a bad thing unless their sunday training clashes with church. then, i'll have a whole new list of problems.) i'm really depressed because i really wanted to train tennis...i don't care much about the competitions but i guess i wouldn't get into any other jc's team anyway...nyjc has definitely lost some of it's allure but i don't really feel attracted to aj either. it'll depend on my results now i guess...i'm quite bummed now...somehow i feel more mentally tired rather than physically titred despite the excercise.
!!!i think i've got a crush on this girl!! i don't know her name. i don't know wad ss she's from. but...i got this fuzzy feeling when i see her. i saw her in some of the lectures i have? would i have a chance? well, stay tuned to see if anything would happen.
oh yea...bamboo called me. i told him not to join tennis yet so we can join together after we go to the same jc during jae. he sounded like he was trying to pull me to aj but i don't think i'm really interested at this point of time. he also seems to be unwilling to come so i told him that ed would still come if ny wins even if he's not coming. i really feel quite lost now. he also said he wants to be my ogf (they call it orientation group facilitators instead of ogl's). personally i just think it's just his cheap way of trying to find an excuse for himself because OGF's are very likely to become student councillors. yes he's that cheap. he just can't say that he wants to become a councillor so he's not budging. well, i dare to say this out loud, "I DON'T CARE WHATSOEVER. I WANT TO BE A STUDENT COUNCILLOR. IT'S ABOUT TIME I GET THE CHANCE TO TAKE AN ACTIVE LEADERSHIP ROLE. THIS IS MY LAST OPPORTUNITY. I WILL FEEL DEPRIVED IF I DON'T GET TO DO IT. GIVE ME A CHANCE. I'LL MAKE GOOD USE OF IT TO PROVE MYSELF." so there. i dare to say it. to hell with whatever nasty remarks you might have about my bluntness but i'm dead serious about it.
we'll be having our first CT (civics tutorial) tomorrow which means finally getting to know the rest of my ctmates. i think our form teacher/tutor/whatever will be asking for volunteers to be class reps. should i volunteer? it could be some kind of consolation if i don't become councillor. yay.
hmm...after comparing for so many days, maybe it's about time to give a brief overview of what i think of the 2 jc's.
Anderson Junior College
Pros: still has tennis. the famous AJ ice. ed is there, but this can change. my ex-crush is there. i start with a clean slate.
Cons: relatively furhter from where i live. certain people i don't really like to be around with. i'm unfamiliar with the place. bamboo might become my OGF. (nooooooooooooooooo) there are more people from better ss there, therefore greater pressure. lecturers who try to act fierce. my ex-crush is there.(well, it could be a good thing or a bad thing. i haven't decided.) they don't have dragonboat. no dress-down day. school song sounds like something to be sung at a funeral or something. handphones not allowed. ugly school crest. ugly p.e. t-shirt. standard colours for sports shoes. white socks only. i start with a clean slate.(meaning i have to work hard to prove myself.)
Nanyang Junior College.
Pros: near my house. warm and welcoming feeling. interesting and engaging lecturers. nice dances. (i think every jc has their own.) the school song is quite easy to sing and i find it quite funny. dress-down day on fridays when students can wear a school-approved t-shirt to school.(i think) new compound. familiar with the place. any coloured socks and shoes allowed as long as they do not have quirky designs or are too distracting. handphones can be used freely when not in lectures or tutorials. my new crush is there.(but i don't know if she will leave)
cons: certain people i don't like. i don't think i've made many new friends here yet so i feel kind of lonely because most other people are sticking to people from their ss but the thing is everyone disappears when i need to stick to them. sigh~ i need to get some closer friends...aquaintances and hanging around girls all the time won't do me any good...i don't get a clean slate. (i think i've hurt some people during the games but i hope they won't be petty and hold me against it. i was in the heat of battle. hehe...) no tennis team.
so tired...i really don't know what to do tomorrow...i need to sleep early...mentally bummed out...rest so i can make good decisions tomorrow...cya...oyasumi~ zZzZzZzZzZzZz....
Day 7...good news....and bad news...
AJ 5 : NY 5 (will we ever have a winner?)
current mood: rather perplexed
today was ok at first. in the morning, we finally lined up according to our CT groups (civics tutorial). i finally realized that michelyn is in NY when she saw me in the same CT and called me. i couldn't recognize her right away because she really slimmed down.the only other people i know in my CT are roy, penuel and wei long.
so, after assembly, we went to the hall for talks held by the 2 vice-principals. we finally got to know that the renovation and contruction would be done by the next erm. the parade square and basketball courts would be ready next month but the tennis courts would only be ready in march (meaning we would have to go down to YCK to practice in the meantime.).
after the talks, we had our first and only mass GP lecture held in the hall. the laptop/ projector wasn't working so we couldn't see the presentation. furthermore, the lecturer didn't articulate himself clearly enough so it was rather tiring.
after GP, we had half an hour's break which i spent in the library with clarice and kelvin. we grabbed some chemistry books and filled in our lecture notes to get ourselves prepared for tommorrow.
we had our physics introductory lecture after the break and the lecturer was rather engaging and funny. they gave out physics notes and some people including my row didn't get any. so one of the teachers, mr lim, went to get the notes and gave them to us. oh ya, my point is, that mr lim looks a lot like eric from shinhwa(including the puffy eyes look). after physics was maths which was equally fun and the lecturer just as humourous. we learnt partial fractions which isn't too challenging and kinda fun to do. then we didn't just get notes on partial lectures but also a worksheet on surds, indices and logarithms.
after maths, we had a house meeting at our respective venues. (zelda is now known as dragon, ithor = pegasus, osiris = griffin and nazgul = phoenix) the house meeting was about the inter-house chinese new year float making competition. all j1's are involved. so it's either performing or float making. performers were under the beautiful amanda (our house captain) while the people making it would be under the other i-can't-remember-his-name house captain. obviously i had to volunteer to perform right? so, the performers went outside to discuss what to perform. so while we were in the middle of the discussion (okok, we were going to begin discussing), one of the j2's came looking for me because the guy house captain asked for me. so i went back. the captain wanted to see 3 people, which included me, after the meeting. (i think it's because we had volunteered long time ago. ok, i didn't know everyone HAD to be involved at that time. like all my friends teased me by saying "wah, you want to do everything ar? haha.") ok, so the meeting was finally over. so when my friend and i went to look for the guy, he said it's ok and he would see us another time without explaining why he had wanted to see us.
ok, after the meeting i did not have anymore lectures for the day. but, i couldn't go as i had dragonboat/canoeing at 4.30pm. so i went to the cafeteria for lunch. after lunch, i met jaime who also signed up and managed to convince him to go have a look even though he had injured his foot. so, we went to the library with hui shan and we sat down and finished our maths homework. after we were done there was like another 40minutes to go. ok, so we changed and waited around at the grand stand.
the training (or rather orientation) started promptly and we started off by running 2 rounds round the track, did some stretching, push-ups and some more warming up. i wouldn't called it vigorous or really tiring but it's only a small fraction of their usual training. then the captain warned all of us (around 100 people were there at least but i don't think all of them will stay.) that it is a cca with very vigorous physical training and that it won't be easy. oh yeah, because my black zion t-shirt (the attire for today's training) is still wet, i wore my secondary school p.e. t-shirt, so i was like the odd one out.(only a few others didn't wear the black zion t-shirt). after that, we had some games. the first game was a short obstacle course that we had to complete while being tied to another person. i paired up wioth junio and we did pretty well. our group manged to beat the other group. the second game was a game where we had to blidfolded and then had to navigate our way throguh an area with plastic bottles around. we can't knock down the bottles and we had to pick up a balloon and inflate it before crawling under a bench and reaching the other side. there would be a commander who would give the blindfolded person directions. we managed to win the second game as well. the third game was like dog and bone. but instead of playing with bean bags, there would be a pail of water and tapioca flour and we would have to run to the pail and shout the other person's name. the person who shouts first gets to splash the other person. i got called three times out of which i got splashed twice because i can't remember the names of guys but i managed to get the girl, joyce. well, our group still managed to win in the end and we got to splash everyone from the other group althugh there were three guys who ran away even though all four girls were very sporting and were willing to get splashed. i've got this feeling that those 3 guys won't last long in dragonboat. we ended with a debrief and i put my name down for saturday's sea training at kallang river. it is really quite fun and i really want to take this opportunity to work out in preperation for NAPFTA.
ok, the good news and bad news part came after the dragonboat and canoeing. the good news: the person from tennis finally called me and told me that the try-outs are tommorrow at YCK, my usual place. how exciting! and if i make it into the school team, i would be able to take part in the upcoming tourney which will be held while PAE is still on! PEARLS points galore! the bad news: chances are that the tennis boys' team would be closed down during april for whatever reason unless a miracle happens (winning in the oturney?). this gives me a greater reason to leave NY during JAE. on the other hand, i think i have some feelings for NY already and that i can still join dragonboat which is not a really common cca that can be found at every jc and i could appeal for the tennis boys' team to be reformed once my friends come in during JAE and we get numbers and there might be a chance that we might be successful if our proposal is good. oh yea, if it is, we would get PEARLS points! heh heh....
well, today's chain of events still leaves me undecided. no matter what, i'm going to work hard for my place at the try-outs tommorrow. anyone reading this blog please wish me good luck and i appreciate your moral support. oh yea, we'll be having p.e. tommorrow and i heard that we have to run like 8 rounds round the tracks which works out to be around 0.4km x 8 = 3.2km?! just hope that i would still have energy after p.e. at the try-outs. maybe i should have a banana at lunch? well, it's time for me to go rest early tonight. cya tommorrow!!! oyasumi nasai~
Day 6...tennis practice...
AJ 4 : NY 4
current mood: tired....
there isn't anything that's really interesting today in school. basically we had a talk by our principal and the teacher in charge of discipline. in NY we can wear any coloured shoes and socks unlike AJ where they have specific colours and white socks are compulsory. boys are to have short hair(not touching ears or collar), no colouring and no ear piercings. i'm an offender of 2 of those....my hair touches my collar even though my sides are still acceptable because i cut the sides short and i coloured my hair during the holidays.
after the talks we had a sample chemistry lecture which was conducted by Mrs Queenie Wong, HOD of Science a.k.a. David's mum. she gave us a brief overview of what will be taught in the next 3 months and reccomended some relevent textbooks. we then received a set of notes which we had to pay $0.20 for.(i just realized that there are blanks to fill in so i'll be going to the library tomorrow to get the neccessary info)
after chemistry we had the biology sample lecture. we had a brief overview on the core topics and optional topics in the 'a' level bio syllabus and also what we will be covering in the next 3 months. the lecture ended at 11.10am and i had no more lectures today but the gates only open at 12.15pm so i had to wait in school.
first, i went to the cafeteria with hui shan. then i went to the school library with some girls from my orientation group, yu ting and waye ning and yu ting's friend. they called me their "sister" because i hang out with girls (them) rather than guys. well, it's actually because the guys are no where in sight. i think they were having their economics lecture then. then i met shu yi and weiyu there and i managed to convince them to go home since the gates were opened. so i went home and had lunch and grabbed my tennis stuff.
i took the bus to yio chu kang tennis centre. as the bus passed by AJ, i noticed that the tennis court there was unoccupied which really irked me. i mean, i'm paying $3.50 an hour at the public courts while they can play for free but they aren't using the court? ok, so i met sc and we went to book a court for an hour first. somehow, we are the only ones in the centre using the tennis facilities. we just started playing when it started drizzling. at first it was ok as the drizzle made it cool. later, we realized that the wet floor made the ball skid on the floor and bounced low which made it pretty difficult to play. so we decided to work on my forehand. i couldn't really control my forehand so the ball tend to fly to the ends of the courts and sc had to pick the ball which made him pretty frustrated. but after some work, i realized what was wrong with my forehand and now i think i'm quite ready for the try-outs. while we were practicing, the lady at the counter who books the courts came out of the office and said something like "you only paid $3.50 and you want to play 2 hours?". i mean, we weren't wearing watches and there was absolutely no one else using the courts and it was still drizzling, can't she be nice? so sc paid for the hour we already played and then we left.
sc said he wanted to get a new overgrip which i also did because my white one has turned brown, so we went to amk to get overgrips. we first went to sportslink which only had a small selection of not really good but expensive overgrips. then we went to world of sports when we realzied that the amk branch doesn't even have a tennis section. we decided to get it another time and sat down at mr.bean and had drinks. i had the honeydew soya milk which hardly tasted of honeydew at all.
after that we went back. i went to the community centre near my house to look for the taekwondo instructor to get my black belt certificate which i had qualified for last year but was too busy to collect. he wasn't there yet so i walked towards the basketball court when i saw jinglun (i just noticed that he pierced his left ear) where he dragged me to play a game of bball (which i suck at because i can't dribble and my throwing is only accurate sometimes) with 3 members of the NYBBGT ( nanyang basketball girls team). we got trashed. after somemore bball, i went back to look for the instructor who i found sitting at the cafe. he didn't know that i was coming today so he didn't have the cert with him so he said he'll call me another day.
then i went home to have my dinner. dinner was rice, some seaweed soup and veggies with mushrooms and limpets(those small abalone-like thingys).
i feel that i have improved and should now be ready for the try-outs. (there weren't many guys who signed up and only some of them has tennis experience) i really thank sc for taking time out to practice with me.
well, we'll be having more sample lectures tomorrow and land training for dragonboat/canoeing tomorrow so i'll look foward to that. time to go off now. cya tomorrow! oyasumi nasai~
sunday discussion: my friends
no scoring on weekends
current music: BoA - shine we are!
current mood: pretty excited
my sundays are pretty standard so i won't have much to say thus i've decided to discuss various topics each week.
okok, for those who want to know what i do each sunday, i'll go to church in the morning till about 12+. then i'll stay at home doing whatever. then i'll go out in the evening to have dinner with my family. that's about it. oh yea, sometimes we'll visit my grandparents too.
alright, this week i'll introduce some of the people whom i might mention in my blog wether they are my friends or not.
br4thers/bros4(four of us are close pals):
edwin/ed/yu chuan/mr. kuro: whatever you do, don't praise this guy. once you do, he'll go on and on about how great he (thinks he) is. i can tolerate the boasting most of the time but sometimes he gets really annoying. he says his best virtue is that he doesn't get angry and cares for others (he stands up for people like ming hui and qi liang, both of whom i will intro later.) he has a not-so-secret admirer, si qi, who keeps bugging him even though we have graduated from secondary school but she occasionally gives us gifts too. he likes music by jay chou and is into computer stuff. he isn't very sporty but somehow he's naturally quite tan. he's pretty good at games that are music related such as ddr, para para, beatmania and VOS. oh yea, he hopes to marry or have a girlfriend who's a dentist.
sheng chao/sc/momo/mr. momo: he's a fun loving guy who's really sporty. he goes along with the group and is pretty compliant and is a friend who will be there when u need him.(unless he's sleeping or hanging out with his other friends. haha) he has this thing for cats and there is this one around our secondary school which i think is going to follow him home soon if he continues scratching it behind its ears.(but he doesn't go back there as often now that he's in yishun jc) oh ya, if he's out to get you, you are going to get insulted and bullied for a loooooong time...(bamboo is one of the victims) he has a crush on.............and his favourite actress is Jia Jing Wen. he reads manga and watches anime too. he's also a h......game fan!! he's also the most likely one of us to do it with someone first.hahaha. he can really eat a lot too. somehow he doesn't get fat, or doesn't look fat anyway.(he was admitted into TAF club for about 1 or 2 sessions because he binged before the weight measurement)
Zhi Hao/bamboo/chopsticks/toilet king/mr. tei: he's a really energetic guy who has everchanging interests. he will never stay interested in one thing for more than 2 years, maximum. he's always complaining that he's broke but i feel that it is the result of his diversification in interests. and he always copies or tries to follow trends in the people around him. i think he's quite dependent on friends and he should learn to be more independent. and he's always worrying and when he's worried, the frequency of his toilet visits increases drastically. he's also really thin, earning him his nickname bamboo and chopsticks. i've been getting this feeling that he looks down on certain people when it comes to certain things and he gets really irritating sometimes. he is hopelessly in love with.......well, i'm sure he has some good point but i can't recall now.
sister3/sis3(3 gals whom we are pretty close to):
shu yi/jaws: she claims she is a guy. well, she's into astrology and tarot reading and that sort of stuff. her chinese is pretty darn good and she is taking up LEP (language elective program) even though she did not take higher chinese in secondary school. she's called jaws for pretty obvious reasons.(but she and simin has this friend whom i think would fit the role better).
simin: she's a quiet girl in class and in school. she's really fair and has almond shaped eyes so she looks very japanese. she's into shoujo manga especially fushigi yuugi and CLAMP productions. but when she's not in school she can get pretty excited and rowdy especially if we are going to the arcade.
aileen: she's also into shoujo manga and anime. she's the most sporty of the three. we suspect that she has/had a crush on ed....(i don't know why since i don't think he's the hot chick magnet material. oh wait, his admirers aren't exactly hot chick material. kekeke. no offense.)
the outsiders:
ming hui/min ghui/william(due to his resemblence to william hung)/mr. hana: he's obsessed with survivor, the amazing race and manually fertilizing flowers. he likes to stick to ed but i think we should be weary of him. what he says in front of you could very likely be the exact opposite of what he said about you to someone else. he thinks he's smart, better than us and is very good at politics. but guess what? you are so busted, dude. wake up and stop pretending.
qiliang: he's this quiet guy whom i think is just misunderstood. but i think there are reasons for him being ostracized by most of the people in class as he tends to send strange sounding sms' and tends to smile for no apparent reason.
the group who think there are funny but usually don't turn out so:
julian/spiky: perverted idiot who thinks he's a good joker.
roy: he's just a little too energetic. some people can keep up, some can't. he's also my classmate for at least the next 3 months.
zhen hao/mankey: ok la, but he hangs around spiky.
gay connection:
kenneth/ken-neh: he's the leader who started this group. i don't know if he's gay. don't ask me. he's pretty ok by himself but tends to get annoying when with at least one other member.
vinnie: member.
kim soon: member.
wei jie: member. he's actually quite a nice guy.
thomas: member. i don't think he's gay because he's always flirting with girls.
le couple:
kelvin & clarice: kelvin isn't very tall but he's really well-built so i wouldn't mess if him if i were you. clarice is this sweet girl whom is the target of many perverts. they make a great couple.
well, that's the end of my first sunday discussion! i hope you will now know more about some of the peple around me! i will talk about other people around me in other future discussions. until next week, cya! oyasumi nasai~
saturday...kinda fun...
no scoring on weekends
current music: utada hikaru - easy breezy
current mood: kinda hyped
aah...the first saturday after school reopens. i woke up this morning at around 10 by some noise. my mum some roti prata(indian flatbread) with egg for breakfast which i had with some green tea(i'm a green tea freak. i don't know why but i just like green tea. canned or brewed is fine but i just don't like the stupid justea green tea with lemon.). after breakfast i watched the television until 12pm.
10.30am: pokémon
in the last episode, ash had asked for a rematch gym battle with brawly and brawly agrees. the episode starts with team rocket trying to attack ash and company but gets blast away by a geyser as they were standing on a vent. the gym battle began. ash sends out treecko and brawly uses machop. ash tells treecko to move from stone pillar to stone pillar as if it was in its forest. this tires machop as it fails to get treecko with its karate chop attacks. machop then suddenly gets a surge of energy and attacks with e cross chop attack but misses as ash withdraws treecko in time. ash then sends out corphish and tells it to use crabhammer on machop which knocks it out. brawly then sends out hariyama and tells it to use arm thrust on corphish. ash tells corphish to harden and wait for hariyama to tire out. but hariyama doesn't seem to be tiring out so ash changes his strategy and tells corphish to jump into the water. corphish then jumps out of the water and attack with crabhammer and then fall back into water. hariyama takes a few of these attacks until brawly tells it to use arm thrust on the water. when it did, the water splashes up and corphish is sent flying into the air looking pretty surprised. hariyama finally does a seismic toss on corphish and it is knocked out. ash sends out treecko again and they battle until they are both pretty tired. then the 2 pokémon prepare for their final attacks and both moved on vents and waited for the geyser to shoot. when it does both pokémon are sent flying in the air towards each other and they both attack. they both land and hariyama faints after a while! ash wins!
11 am: teenage mutant ninja turtles
i'm not really interested so i'm not doing a summary.
11.30am: gundam seed
i'm sure u r not really interested in the summary anyuway so forget it. haha.
after that i came online for a while till it's lunch time. after i had lunch i changed and went to shuyi's house as planned. at shuyi's house we played around with her deck of tarrot cards and tried to see the year ahead for sheng chao(our nickname for him is also momo but to avoid confusion i don't think i should use it here to avoid confusion with rui xiang, the ny student councilor president.) then edwin showed us the dances taught at ajc. he said he was chosen as best dancer from his group so i told him it must be that the people at ajc can't dance. then shuyi and i showed him the dances taught at nyjc. after that, we tried to see the year ahead for zhi hao(a.k.a. bamboo or mr.tei). while we were through interpreting halfway, sheng chao came. shuyi served us drinks and then sc showed us the dances from yishun jc. we then showed him the dances again. the ranking for the dances at the 3 jc's are 1st: YJC, 2nd: NYJC, 3rd: AJC.
we then left and went to toa payoh where sc and i went to tenchi comics to grab some comics while ed went to meet siqi to pass her some ten year series. siqi is a girl from our secondary school who obviously likes ed and keeps bugging us although i do appreciate her shower of gifts to us once in a while. from tp, we took the mrt to bishan. we walked around and sc bought a naruto keychain that has a figure of naruto, one of his frog summons and a metals kunai attatched. he pulled off naruto and the frog and hanged the kunai on his sling bag. we then looked around somemore before going to see Angela Zhang perform at the open plaza at junction 8. we had dinner at mcdonald's where i had a grilled chicken foldover, orange mcfizz and twister fries.
after dinner, we walked to ang mo kio. since it was an at least 15 minute walk, we decided to sing as we walked there as there wasn't many people on the way anyways. we sang to the mp3 played from my phone and ed says this could a trend in the future. well, it was another fun thing that can only be done with close friends unless you want people to think that you are demented.
at amk, we went to look alvin nah up at his second home, "the uncle's shop" (it's a hobby shop in amk central which sells trading cards and games and consoles at pretty decent prices. they even have rare trading card games and japanese game titles one of the best hobby shops in singapore i would say. even better than the overhyped world of jj. there are also tables for playing card games. i don't think it has a name so it's just dubbed "the uncle's shop". i would say that i've spent enough there that the shop owner actually recognizes me as a semi-regular. the people at the shop are quite friendly. rating: 9.5/10), to get the cards and money in his hands which belong to bamboo and me. he doesn't have it with him today so he says i can get it from him 2 weeks later. (i will hold him to fufill his word)
we walked around amk then sat down and drank some soya milk from mr.bean when we got tired. the watermelon soyamilk was a little too sweet for my liking but i think it's not bad. we went home shortly after we finished and sc went to the toilet.
i have made an appointment with sc to practice on monday so i can have a final practice session before the try-outs so i can work on my forehand and slicing so i'm looking very much foward to that. i'm also really optimistic about school on monday as we will have our first sample lectures. i think i've gotten a little attatched to nyjc but i'm not sure if it's a good think as i may leave after PAE. crap, it has only been 1 week. anyways, it's time to go now. cya tomorrow! oyasumi nasai~
Day 5...long day...

The Final Chapter...
and so the various faction elders get ready for the final battle against Agent Smith. they log into the matrix and go off in search for Agent Smith. Smith finally appears and the elders decide to him on 1 by 1. all the elders got totally trashed and one of them even really knocked her head into something. they finally decide to work together in a single combined attack and Link was even about to use the original version of norton anti-virus on Smith which would have deleted him once and for all(it didn't work the other time because the one they got at the pasar malaam was pirated.) when Lord Momo appeared and told them to stop whatever they were doing and return to Zion as Smith had infected many machines which were attacking Zion. they abandoned the mission and went back to Zion right away. they then fired nuclear missles at the machines that defeated them. (machines are destroyed when exposed to radiation? and won't the people of Zion suffer since the machines already reached Zion?) this calls for celebration and Lord Momo started talking and then stopped because he like bent over to vomit. (really. i guess he came to the orientation today even though he is sick. *sob* so noble... respect man.*thump chest* no wonder he's president of the student council.)
THE END
today is the last day of ZION, the nyjc j1 orientation. (until orientation 2 after JAE which i won't know if i'll be going yet.)
first, we had mass games and we played against Zelda. the first game we played was Quidditch, which is obviously based on HP. no brooms involved and the game doesn't end when the 2 snitches are found. the goalposts are 3 hula hoops tied to a pole and the snitches are flattened green ping pong balls hidden amongst the grass on the field where the game is played. we played and with lost like 0:100 or something because they got 2 goals and found one snitch which was worth 80 points. the second game we played was snatch. each team had a "home" area which had green balls of paper in them. there are snatchers who are to snatch one green ball at a time and put it into their own "home" and defenders, who are supposed to stop snatchers from doing so. the winner is determined by the team who has the most balls in their "home" by the end of timed game. i was a snatcher but the Zelda defenders chosen were all girls and they all held hands. i had no choice but to break through by knocking into their hands so that they would let go. then another teammate and i stayed in the "home" (snatchers are supposed to snatch only by entering the "home".) to act as decoy because all their girls would all focus on us so that they could tap us once we had to drop the ball and become immobilized for 20 seconds. so while i stayed there, my fellow snatchers would be able to sneak balls out without them noticing. well, i did have my fair share of bringing several balls into my group's "home" and also being tapped. once, one of the opposing defenders tapped me and i dropped the ball and didn't move and she picked my ball up (which she wasn't supposed to do as defenders are not allowed to touch the balls at all.) and placed it back into her "home". well, our group still won in the end. yay! the next game we played involved us sticking a coloured sash from our shorts. the object of the game is to pull the sash from your opponent. there are 6 blue sashes which denotes kings who can grab the sashes of kings, knights and hobbit and 15 red sashes which denotes knights who can grab the sashes of knights and hobbits and finally black sashes which represents hobbits who can only grab sashes of kings and other hobbits. whichever team with the most number of kings left at the end of the time limit wins. we used a decoy again but having a few of us surrounding a hobbit which led the other team into thinking we are protecting a king. we also won this game with 5 remaining kings to 3. the next game we played was crazy soccer which is soccer played with 4 goal posts and 2 balls. we managed thrash the other team. the last mass game we played was a baloon stepping game and we got completely wiped out.
after the games we had lunch during which i sat with some girls from my OG. after eating i signed up for businessweek. after we all have had lunch, we went up to hall to have a revison for the 2 dances we had learnt with Zelda and some councilors. after dancing for a few times, most of the people got tired and so momo asked for the best dancers from each of the 2 factions. since no one from our volunteered, hui shan and i decided to go up since we had almost perfected the dance that uses the music "summer sunshine" yesterday. (a bit shameless lar. but we don't mean that we are the best dancers in our faction, juz maybe the 2 with most initiative. haha.) we had no problem with "summer sunshine" but then they followed up with the other dance which i wasn't really sure about. so i made quite a few blunders. but i did get some recognition after dancing so i'm quite happy.
after the revison we had our final faction games in which all 4 factions took part together. each faction had their own base in which they must build a structure with empty metal cans. there are attackers who will attack another team's structure with newspaper balls. each faction is designated a specific faction to attack. zelda attacks ithor, ithor attacks osiris, osiris attacks nazgul and nazgul attacks zelda. there are defenders from each team who will prevent the attackers from attacking the structure. the team with the tallest structure at the end of the time limit wins. each team may rebuild their structure for up to 5 times by sending 2 defenders to rebuild in 20 seconds but they may only do this before the final 3 minutes. our faction decided to pose as another faction to trick the attackers from ithor but i don't think it really worked. and i was a defender and i think i got pretty rough defending. then i realised that i haven't been very gentlemanly or sportsmanlike today and felt pretty guilty.
we had buffet dinner and i ate with the girls again. after dinner is the disco where we had dance non-stop for like 2 and a half hours but time really flew. one of our OGL's, Yong En, suddenly became very hyper. ( he has been very quiet for the past 5 days) i had lots of fun and really enjoyed myself.
we have been sorted into our classes and sample lectures would take place for the whole of next week. i really look foward to monday and the things to come. oh ya, i'm going to shuyi's place tomorrow so we can see the ajc, nyjc and yjc dances which i think will be fun. it's time for me to go again. cya tomorrow. oyasumi nasai~
Day 4...an exciting day!
AJ 2 : NY 2
current mood: HIGH HIGH HIGH
The Next Chapter Unfolds...
the elders of Osiris held a party in celebration of the defeat of Agent Smith. while they were partying, Momo appeared and announced that even though Smith was defeated, he has not been deleted yet and called for the party to be cancelled and organized an emergency meeting for all faction elders.
shortly after, all the faction elders assembled. Momo decides that all the factions should work together in an combined attack and take down Smith once and for all.
will their combined efforts be enough to vindicate Smith completely? stay tuned for the final chapter tomorrow(since tomorrow is the last day of orientation.)...
we went for The Quest today and we really had a great time.
we started off by walking the long route to the Serangoon MRT and ran to catch the train. we arrived at clark quay and walked all the way to boat quay to our 1st station. even the group leaders didn't know excatly where thestation was or what it was so i don't think we managed to points at the first station. then we went to the other stations in the area which were located at the asian civilisation museum, the fullerton, the bridge in front of the fullerton, victoria theatre, the arts house and sveral war memorials. at one of the memorials the station ic said that we had performed very well and gave us a clue to the bonus station which we immediatly identified to be at the istana. we then proceeded to the station at the saint andrew's cathedral where we strategized. we decided to go to the esplanade park where several war memorials are located and then to the esplanade where we finally got air-con. we then took the citilink to get to city hall mrt and took the train to dhoby ghaut where the istana is. but by the time we got to the bonus station, it was already lunch time and the station ic's had already left. so we decided to have lunch at plaza singapura. some of my group members decided to go to long john's silver for lunch while the others decided to go to kfc.
well, i decided to try the new O.R. burger so i got a meal at the offer price of only $2.95. the burger was really small, like half the size of a regular burger but the taste was quite ok. i requested for extra vegie to balance the meal. we then took the NEL line back to school.
once we got back to school we started to prepare for the NY hunk and babe.the david yeo look-alike represented our faction as i had anticipated while our "babe" is a national rugby player (i heard). oh yes, he's quite buff. after dressing up i'm not even sure wether the boobs are fake because they look way too natural.
the representatives for hunk and babes from zelda and ithor are the regular hunks and babes. the representatives from nazgul were also 2 guys. but their "babe" looked much more transvitite than ours and the boobs look way too fake and "she" even had a chain that went all the way down into her cleavage and wore a tube top which revealed her tummy and a really short mini skirt similar our babe's. their hunk also took off his coat, revealing that he was topless. well, in the end, hunk of the year wasn't the david yeo look-alike as we would have wished but the nazgul guy but we did win the babe of the year with our rugby player. as the hunk and babe were announced they fondled each other on stage as well as while they were walking down the aisle. they looked so gay...i really think NY people really like crossdressers as their previous babe was another guy.
we were dismissed shortly after the pageant. after that a few of my secondary schoolmates decided to go back to zhonghua to see the campfire for the sec 1 orientation camp. after a while, most of them decided to leave, leaving only a few of us behind. but, we were still keen to take on the sec 1's. after some thought we decided to perform the dance we learnt yesterday to all of the sec 1's. so we got the music, started practicing like crazy, and in a flash we were on stage performing for all the sec 1's and ms tan and ms loo and several other teachers. i was kind of paiseh (embarassed) because i hadn't really perfected it yet. it was quite fun performing and i think our seniors would quite happy to learn that we had already made use of what they had taught us so soon.
tomorrow is the last day of orientation. i really look foward to the finale of the skit and also the disco night. oh, i have to go now. cya till i post again. oyasumi nasai~
Day 3...brief confusion...
AJ 1 : NY 1
current mood: kinda relaxed
The story continues...
the great Momo holds a meeting with all faction elders only to learn of the defeat of the Zelda elders, Neo and Trinity. The faction elders of Osiris, Link and Zee, volunteers to take down Agent Smith once and for all and since Osiris is the strongest faction of the four, Momo agrees.
and so Link and Zee carries out the mission with the accompaniment of 2 lackeys and proceed to the matrix. one of them was holding Smith off while the other got the elders to the scene. by the time they reached the place of the confrontation, Smith had defeated Osiris lackey #1 and corrupted him with the Smith virus. he then let Smith-copy-#1 go 1 on 1 with osiris lackey #2. after some cool display of kicks, punches and dodges, Smith-copy-#1 defeats Osiris lackey #2 and corrupts him, turning him into Smith-copy-#2. the Osiris elders realize that the copies were still humans who could be shot by their guns and pulled out their guns and started firing like there was no tomorrow. after some slo-mo-dodging of bullets, the copies were finally shot and defeated but Agent Smith remained unharmed as he was able to dodge all bullets. Link had no choice but to use his secret weapon that they had obtained from the pasar malam.(a night bazaar) Link pulled out Norton Anti-virus and Agent Smith dissolved away.
Agent Smith has been defeated...or so it seems...the story continues tomorrow...
the skits are rather interesting to watch especially with all the humour injected in.
day 3 is comparably better than day 2, which leads me to give NY a +1 for today.
we learnt another dance today. it's another couple dance to the music "summer sunshine" by the corrs and is a really fun dance to do. well, i got my wish and i got someone else to dance with, shuyi! she got assigned to another group but we are in the same faction so we got to dance together. it's good to dance with someone you know when you are learning because it's gets kinda awkward when there's too much body contact. well, we had fun and i really enjoyed myself.
ooh, we had 'wild games' today which aren't really wild but we pit against other groups from Nazgul in various stations. we won at the 1st station but lost the other 3. it's ok, we still had fun. i feel kinda lousy at station 3 though. we were playing dodgeball with these really light balls and we had trouble getting them to the other side so we just got crawled all over.
during faction time we played some games, learned some more cheers and the school song. the tune is kinda funny but luckily it doesn't require a large vocal range and is quite easy to sing. oh yea, we were choosing the representative to represent our faction in the Ny hunk and babe pageant 2005. i got sabotaged and represented my group as 'hunk'(some sense of conflict with what happened yesterday huh?) but luckily i wasn't picked to represent the faction. i think that David Yeo lookalike will represent us as hunk. i nominated sue lynn to represent us as babe but she's just too shy.
well, all that left us with like what, 25 minutes to walk all the way to the cafeteria and have lunch. i had to finish my noodles in 5 minutes or less after spending time queueing up.
the highlight of the day was the cca bazzar!( which is the source of my brief confusion) well, as expected, all cca's put up stalls and some tried to pull the j1's in. well, after walking all over the school compound i finally found the tennis booth in the hall along with squash, judo, table tennis and judo.( the hall's in level 3 while most of the stalls are either on level 1 or 2) they didn't seem very welcoming so after i enquired about where they practiced (the tennis court in the school is still under construction or rather construction of the tennis court should begin soon.), i put my name down and they told me that they would call me for the try-outs. so i walked another round and decided to sign up for dragon boat/canoeing(it's 1 cca) after consulting some of my friends. then i joined up with shuyi and the other girls and walked around the cca bazaar with them. we decided to rest near the some cca which i think is indian culture related (which meant that we would be quite safe). then some people from the zhong1 hua2 wen2 hua4 xue2 hui4 (chinese culture society or something) came over from their stall which wasn't too far away. the vice-president engaged us in a very friendly conversation and seriously i felt that it was most welcoming for the whole bazaar. i thought, "what the heck", and i put my name down to give it a go. (let me sidetrack, it doesn't seem to the average boring chinese drama club. i don't know why but i decided to give it a shot.) we went home soon after.
when i got home, i got into a dilemma. i just realized that dragon boat has 3 practices a week. along with tennis, that leaves me with 2 free evenings a week, monday and thursday.in addition, ken-neh and vinnie are joining dragon boat too. ken-neh by himself is ok, but when coupled with vinnie, they can be almost unbearable.great. also, the chinese society has activities on wednesdays, which totally clashes with tennis' wednesday and friday practice sessions. i'm really into tennis. but they have a try-out and i'm really afraid i can't get in. afterall, i just started late last year. also, the chinese society will be having a performance in the 1st 3 months (so i will still be there) which gives PEARLS points, but i don't know if i will still get the points if i change cca after 3 months of change JC during JAE. perfect, i don't know wether the cca i want wants me and i don't know wether i want the cca's i signed up for. i'm sure i'll have to quit at least 1 of them but which? after the PEARLS talk this morning i just want to get points. but i won't get much points if i join tennis because it's difficult to get achievement points. sigh~ now i want more than ever to be a student councilor because i've always wanted to be a student leader but has never gotten the opportunity to become one and also being one in JC gives very attractive points. but the thing is, u can't decide to be one, u have to wait for them to give you the opportunity before u can prove yourself at the auditions which really sucks.
after some considerations, this is what i have decided to do:
1)i will try dragon boat for maybe a few sessions and unless i REALLY like it, i will quit. this is because it is too time consuming and tiring and it might pose a problem while i try to handle triple sciences. furthermore, there are people that i don't really like hanging around which makes it difficult to be in the same group sport as them. i don't want to sabotage the team.
2)unless the chinese society decides to change to another day(which the vice-president said they might to suit the majority of the member's timetable), i will quit unless case 3 occurs.
3)i don't make it through the try-outs for tennis. then i will remain in the chinese society for the rest of PAE.
i'll decide what to do and where to go at JAE.
i'm quite proud of myself for being able to sort things out. i'll remember that schoolwork takes precedence over CCA. i'm really looking foward to the try-outs coming up and also The Quest which we will be embarking tomorrow in which we will venture outside of the school. i'm sure it will be fun. well, it's time for me to go again. i'm signing off! oyasumi nasai~
Day 2...sad sad sad day...
AJ 0 : NY 0
current ringtone: SM town - Snowflake
current music: Angela Zhang Shao Han - Aurora
you may wonder why i start with day 2. well,it's because today is the second day of my PAE (that's Provisional Admission Excercise) at NYJC! ok, let me give a recap of what happened.
well we are having orientation this week at NYJC which means no lessons yet and we were promised lots of fun. we have been seperated into 4 factions Zelda (green), Ithor (blue), Osiris (yellow) and Nazgul (red). these factions are further consisted of several OG's (orientation groups). I'm in group 23 which falls under the faction Osiris. yes, if you haven't noticed the factions spell ZION. there is a short skit everyday which forms a story of how agent smith returns and how the faction elders attempt to get rid of him.
The Story So Far:
it is far in the future and Agent Smith was stopped by humans and machines together like many many years ago (story continues after matrix revolution). however one program finally recalls that he is agent smith. (he had duplicated himself in every program but an anti-virus,created with the sacrifice of Neo, got rid of him for those who don't remember) so he starts attacking agents sent from zion to check out the abnormalities detected in the matrix. before being terminated, one of the agents manages to send a message to Momo (his importance in the story has yet to be explained but he is the president of the NYJC student council.) who requests for help from the faction elders (the factions are supposed to be pitting against each other).
First up, the faction elders from Zelda, incidentally named Neo and Trinity, try to stop agent smith (who is played by the NY hunk of the year 2004). they and their lackeys (who are cheap labour) stood no match against the powerful agent smith and were easily defeated.
and to be continued tomorrow.
well, day 1 wasn't very outstanding.we had some ice breakers which weren't totally effective since i still can't remember all the names of my fellow group members. we had university talks, subject combination talks and bleh bleh bleh. it just flew by.
alright. lemme get to the juicy parts. day 2. 3 unfortunate incidents happened to me today. let me elaborate.
1: we learnt a really cool and fun dance today. it was a couple dance and it involved putting my hands around the waist of a girl and holding her hand. shouldn't i be happy? well, i should have. but i got paired up quite unwillingly with a girl who totally wasn't my type. i'm not being critical here but, i'm sorry if u are reading this, seriously i wasn't quite pleased with the arrangement. but being how i am, i couldn't let myself hurt her by swapping partners. the dance was still fun to do but i just didn't enjoy myself as much i should have.
2: it was after the dance and it's time for lunch. i was queueing up to get my food and 2 girls walked past me. they had a converstation that went something like "eh it's that yan dao(handsome) guy izzit?" and the other girl replied "no lah. eeeeeew". i don't know if i'm being too skeptical and i don't know if i was the guy they were talking about (ok, i don't look like Brad Pitt but i don't look THAT bad ok....) but i was really offended because i think i was the only guy in the queue and unless they were talking about some other guy they had seen earlier, i'm quite sure they are talking about me. Hello? i'm not deaf, bitches. some people have no sense of shame and are so uncouth. this gives NYJC a bad name.
3: some people have no sense of humour at all. it was after lunch and we had a game briefing as a faction. and as we were about to proceed to the game stations as groups when it started to rain. i was like telling our group leader jokingly "geez. u mean we are moving off? i thought we were going to have a picnic in the rain." when one of the girls in my group, Shu Xian, asked rather innocently "huh? you are still hungry? didn't we just have lunch?" when another girl nearby said rather coldly "pig." what did i do to incur the wrath of so many girls? i'm a pretty nice guy wad....
sigh~ i was really hurt by the hat trick of unfortunate events.
well, we did have an improvement in our cheering today after an 'elite cheering team' was elected to lead us on. Roy and Zhen Hao were in it which made us really lame. there was this guy who was more enthusiatic than Roy (which is really rare) who had this kind of squeeky voice and he kept shouting "i can't hear you!" until it looked as if he was going to cough his throat out. oh ya, there's another guy who looks like Singapore Idol contestant David Yeo. my primary schoolmate and p2(i think) classmate Jasmine is also an elite cheerleader.
talking about meeting primary schoolmates and classmates, there are some GMPS alumni at NYJC! This includes Kuen Ho, Xin Xian, Shawn, Jasmine, Jeremy and Jun Rong. some remember me, some don't. lots of my secondary schoolmates and classmates are posted to NYJC so it's nothing to be exclaiming about.
if you are wondering what's the score right at the top, it's a scoring system of Anderson Junior College (AJC) and NYJC that's being kept by Ed and me. we would discuss everyday what happened at our respective JC's for the first 3 months and either give the JC a +1 or -1 according to our standards everyday. we would go to the school with higher points at the end of PAE. yesterday's scor was AJ 1: NY 1 but both schools received -1 today for various reasons which i should not elaborate further.
well, i hope tomorrow will be better with the CCA bazzar and all. i really pray that i would get a new dance partner tomorrow for the second dance we are learning.(i'll be contented with ANYONE ELSE in my group) oh yea, no more Mr. Nice Guy for anyone else who wants to give me some bitching. till tomorrow, signing off. i'm off to bed. oyasumi nasai~
